BGCCI organized Security Seminar
30 August, 2016

The Bangladesh German Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a Security Seminar for all the bilateral business community working in Bangladesh. After the incident of July 1st in Holey Artisan Bakery, the bilateral trade relationship took a hit and it slowed down the business eventually.

One of the reasons behind this seminar was to reassure the expats that Bangladesh is a safe country to work with. Those who were working with Bangladeshi companies left country or limited their activities due to the terrorist attack.  BGCCI took an initiative along with the German Embassy Dhaka and Government of Bangladesh to inform the security scenario of Bangladesh and what they can do to take necessary security measures.

The event was undeniably successful due to its timeliness. All the participants of this seminar appreciated the initiative of BGCCI which was a big break for the expats, especially the Germans staying in Bangladesh during that time. Besides the expats BGCCI members were also grateful for this initiative. It was a great attempt to revive Bangladesh’s impression among the foreign bodies. Different authorities from Bangladesh Government also appreciated the effort given by BGCCI. It created a better impression of the chamber to the Government of Bangladesh and enabled BGCCI to get better access in different departments of the Government.
