The Bangladesh-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BGCCI) successfully hosted the seminar “National Budget 2026–27: Impact on Business, Trade, and Investment” on 05 July, 2026 at The Westin Dhaka, bringing together policymakers, business leaders, tax experts, entrepreneurs, and industry representatives to discuss the budget’s impact on Bangladesh’s business and investment landscape.

The seminar was honored by Mrs. Anja Kersten, Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest. Distinguished Special Guests included Mr. Md. Tariq Hassan, First Secretary (Customs: Policy & ICT), NBR; Mr. Md. Mashiur Rahman, First Secretary (VAT Policy), NBR; and Ms. Nusrat Farzana, Deputy Commissioner of Taxes, NBR.

The keynote presentation by Mr. Snehasish Barua, FCA, ACA (ICAEW), Partner, Snehasish Mahmud & Co., provided valuable insights into the National Budget 2026–27, covering key tax, VAT, customs, and investment reforms.

The seminar commenced with opening remarks and moderation by Mr. Md. Farooque Khan, Senior Vice President of BGCCI. Participants were welcomed by Mr. Md. Rokonuzzaman, FCA, President of BGCCI, who reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to strengthening Bangladesh-Germany trade, investment, and policy dialogue. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Md. Jahangir Alam Sharker, Director of BGCCI and Chairman of the Event, expressing appreciation to the distinguished guests, speakers, sponsors, and participants for their valuable contributions.
